Let’s consider the when, how often, and how much kind of questions.
Saturdays.
Saturdays are when I see clients through mysaturdaytherapist.com.
Mornings are an option for virtual appointments.
Afternoons are an option for virtual as well as in-person appointments.
Given your goals and desire for change, consider if Saturdays allow you sufficient opportunity to realistically address your concerns in a timely way for you!
Therapy encompasses reflection, exploration, setting intentions. It is about figuring things out and sometimes getting out of our own way.
Therapy takes time.
My standard appointments are 60 minutes so you have time to be reflective, consider what’s important, share what feels relevant without feeling rushed.
I understand some may prefer longer sessions to support what they most need. I accommodate longer sessions, e.g., 75 , 90 minutes, when they are clinically sound and support your practical concerns and schedule. Depending on your focus, perhaps extended-length sessions spaced weeks apart could make sense.
A trusting relationship can take time to develop.
My hope is to provide you with a safe and comfortable space and for you to feel like you are being listened to by a caring and trusted professional.
Making an investment in ourselves starts with desire or a vision and intention, but that is just the beginning.
A self-pay practice keeps you in charge of your path, not insurance companies or others outside the therapy room.
A sliding scale fee reduction is available for anyone who qualifies because I believe therapy is good for everyone. Anyone earning less than $100,000 annually may pay a reduced fee if we work together.
The sliding scale philosophy has been integral to mysaturdaytherapist.com since it’s inception in 2017 with rates rising for the first and only time in 2025.
In May 2026, a simpler rate chart was introduced that maintained the same standard rate and lowest rate while reducing the levels in between.
This change lowered rates for everyone in the middle who now pay less than before.
Keeping it simple means you can see the rate for yourself and make decisions that are right for you, your goals for counseling and your budget.
Keeping therapy affordable is good for everyone.
Take a look for yourself.
All fees honor-based. You tell me where you land and that’s your rate.
Extended sessions start at your base with any 15-minute increment(s) prorated as appropriate.
What’s more, if you’re a former client of Bates, he’ll update you on further rate reductions that acknowledge and honor your past work together so you pay even less.
