Therapy encompasses reflection, exploration, setting intentions. It is about figuring things out and sometimes getting out of the way.
Therapy takes time.
My standard appointments are 60 minutes so you have time to consider and discuss your concerns without feeling rushed.
I don’t get why an hour can’t be 60 minutes. But I do get that some folks may prefer longer sessions, say a 75 or even 90-minute session. I accommodate longer sessions when they are clinically sound and support your practical concerns and schedule. Depending on your focus, perhaps extended-length sessions spaced weeks apart could make sense.
A trusting relationship can take time to develop.
My hope is to provide you with a safe and comfortable space and for you to feel like you are being listened to by a caring and trusted professional.
Making an investment in ourselves starts with desire or a vision and intention, but that is just the beginning.
A self-pay practice keeps you in charge of your path, not insurance companies or others outside the therapy room.
A sliding scale fee reduction is available for anyone who qualifies because I believe therapy is good for everyone. Anyone earning less than $100,000 annually may pay a reduced fee if we work together.
The sliding scale philosophy has been integral to mysaturdaytherapist.com since it’s inception in 2017 with rates rising for the first and only time in 2025.
In May 2026, I simplified the way reduced fees are calculated by adopting a progressive rate structure with five tiers below the standard rate, down from the previous nine.
This change means folks towards the lower half of the sliding scale actually pay less than before.
Keeping it simple means you can see* the rate for yourself and make decisions that are right for you, your goals for counseling and your budget.
Keeping therapy affordable is good for everyone.
