Early in my counseling career I was drawn to the work of researchers studying what works!

The relationship between client and therapist was the first and has been the most impactful ingredient that I have drawn from the what works’ researchers.

Meaningful change in counseling and psychotherapy begins with a strong therapeutic relationship. Being authentically present allows us to develop trust and collaborate to tailor the approach best for your situation and goals for therapy.

With your goals as the destination and the therapeutic relationship as the foundation, the approach we create to get you where you want to go becomes the path.

There are lots of ways to engage in successful and effective psychotherapy. Over the years I have drawn from effective systems of psychotherapy and adopted a transtheoretical-style approach striving to give clients what they need and when they need it. My approach can adapt with you as your needs and goals change.

The therapeutic approaches I draw from include:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Feedback Informed Therapy

Internal Family Systems

Mindful Presence

Motivational Interviewing

Person Centered

Positive Psychology

Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy

Relationship Centered, Learning Focused

Solution Focused

Strengths-Based

Supportive Psychotherapy

Transtheroretical Psychotherapy

Biopsychosocial perspectives also help identify ways to support you in achieving what you seek in the best way for you.

A real relationship, a developing expectation for growth and change, and engagement in health-promoting actions, together these can serve as the ingredients for helping .

a special note about IFS!

Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy piqued my therapeutic interest in 2015. Over 100 training hours later, including Level One training with the Internal Family Systems Institute (IFSI), I'm excited IFS now transforms my integrative approach to help clients negotiate barriers from the inside out.

I remain an integrative psychotherapist, but I increasingly engage as an IFS informed and trained integrative therapist!
